Robert Hercock

Dr Robert Hercock is a leading UK researcher in Cyber Security and AI. His extensive experience covers Cyber Security, AI, Robotics, Telecommunications and Complex Adaptive Systems. He was a previous member of the Royal Society Science and Industry Committee and acts as an adviser to the Royal Society on A.I and Data Science. Currently Chief Researcher in BT Labs for AI and Cyber Security. He holds over a hundred patents in multiple technology fields, including: AI, Cyber Defence, Machine Learning, and Quantum technologies. He is a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the IET, and is currently a Visiting Fellow at the Changing Character of Warfare Centre, in Pembroke College, Oxford University. He has served as an independent expert for the UK MoD Defence Science Expert Committee and was a Business Research Fellow at the Santa Fe Institute in New Mexico. He contributes on a regular basis to the UK government on security and defence requirements, specifically in emerging technologies and AI.
